Early residents of Erlun Township came from Jinjiang County of Quanzhou and Zhaoan County of Zhangzou in China in the Ching Dynasty and settled in the area. The township was named “Erlun” because there were two connected hills in the plain. (“Lun” in Chinese means mountain) During the Japanese Occupation Period, the location of the township office was called Erlun. After Taiwan was restored, Erlun was divided into two villages: Lundong and Lunsi due to adjustment of administrative areas. The current address of the township office is No. 5, Jhongsing Road, Lunsi Village.
